SkillCraft is now open to everyone
Back in April, the what's-next list ended with "drop the auth gate so crawlers (and humans) can see skills without signing in." Done — as of today, SkillCraft is open.
What changed:
- Every skill page is public. Browse, read, and download without an account. Shared skill links used to break for logged-out visitors; that bug is dead.
- Downloads count for everyone. Anonymous downloads bump the counter once per browser, so the numbers mean what they say.
- New skills publish instantly, with a "pending review" badge until I've checked them. Same quality bar, minus the bottleneck (me).
- Accounts still get the fun parts: upvoting, achievements, the leaderboard, and publishing your own skills.
One honest extra: the leaderboard and site stats had been frozen since deploy day. Fixed. Live numbers right now: 77 users, 14 skills, 77 downloads.
The full nuts and bolts are in the changelog.
